An original 1st stereo pressing of WTB on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 2/2. Stampers 2-RO/3-RT. Please note the labels conform to very 1st press credentials...'Parlophone' perimeter text, large STEREO on label, and most importantly the Jobete publishing credit is still showing. We also have the Dominion typo error present too - it is spelt out as 'DOMION' [Spelt correctly on side 1 & incorrectly on side 2]. Please bear in mind that, whilst 1st presses of WTB are very sought after, it is the 1st Stereo press which is a supreme rarity. And made even more difficult to find in condition like this specimen is in. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo Ernest J Day cover [the earliest]. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) A stunning copy to behold, but being the stereo 1st press it really does up the ante! Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely problematic. We are absolutely not rating this as MINT or being without any use at all. It has clearly been used, but only lightly by a very careful owner. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback.  Again, this no throw-away Ex+ we are talking solid audio playback of the very highest order. This is very unusual in itself, but on a stereo 1st press it is unbelievably difficult to find. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is non-existent. I don't recall more than a couple of crackles [literally] throughout the entire recording. It is borderline faultless and the audio transparency is breathtaking.
Cover (Ex+) Wow! It really takes a careful user to keep both vinyl AND cover in top-level condition. This Ernest J Day cover is quite simply in amazing condition - the mind just boggles! Lovely shiny front with only a couple of tiny creases - this is very unusual. No laminate creasing or ageing at all. The rear is just faultless...I doubt I've ever seen one this good. Absolutely free from ageing and all flipbacks soundly intact. Handling wear is only on a super-light level. Edge wear is practically non-existent too and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains great rigidity and lies perfectly flat. It may be a long time before I see another specimen like this...
