An original Mono 1st press of 'The Who Sell Out' on UK Track. Matrix A2/B1 [the very first cut]. The heavy set vinyl [ way heavier than c.1970] comes housed in an original Mono Ernest J Day cover. Also included is the original inner sleeve from the time.
Vinyl (Ex) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few of those very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A lovely mono rendition just as you would have expected at the time of release - Xmas '67. Interference is very minor. All we could detect was a touch of light static momentarily in a couple of isolated spots - i.e. very little at all. Even in those advertising vocal interludes...great clarity and clean audio. Lovely player without a shadow of a doubt.
Cover (Ex) In great condition and these copies can often surface looking a bit aged and tatty. Thankfully, this copy has survived the years in very rude health. Lovely white areas front and back - so it has mostly avoided the ageing that often afflicts these covers. Surfaces front and back are very clean and I can only make out a couple of creases and one tiny colour blotch. Edge wear is very light and the text on the spine is mostly legible. The cover retains a very high level of rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest of ageing. No rips or markings.
