An original 1st press of ITCOTCK on the solid pink Island label from 1969. Matrix 2/3. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover. Please note true 1st issue covers are heavier card and must mention E.J.Day if they are true 1st issue. Also included is the original blue Island inner sleeve - with the correct 'Basing Street' address. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Don't under estimate what a difficult find this is - Crimson King is an incredibly fussy record. Most copies, by now, will be display some audio issues - it is very rare indeed to find a properly clean playing copy like this one. The audio, as you can imagine, is absolutely stunning. The dynamics you need with this title are all there along with fantastic transparency. This is the best copy I've auditioned. Interference is very very minor and infrequent. All we detected was a light touch of static, briefly, in a couple of short passages...e.g. right toward the end of the final track on side 1. And  a couple of quiet ticks toward the end of an otherwise very clean rendition of Moonchild. And even this is minor. I do think it would be a really difficult find even matching the preservation and playback level on this LP. A definite keeper in my opinion.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition and has been looked after down the years. Warning to prospective buyers of this title - do make sure you are buying the 1st issue cover. It must state 'printed by E J Day'! Nice and clean front and back. The front is exhibiting a sticker removal mark in the top-left  and then a few indentations - but you have to tilt it into the light to even make them out. The rear marginally better. Edge wear is reasonably light except for on the spine. Don't expect to read all the text. The interior is in excellent condition - no issues. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the solid card construction.
Inner (Ex+) Practically faultless. No ageing. No splits.
