The “Advance Promotional” album for Bruce Springsteen’s Born To Run along with the alternate “Script” Cover gatefold design was issued in an extremely limited number and sent to radio stations in 1975.

Many of the few that have survived and traded hands in the last 48 years have handwriting on both the jacket and the album - usually the track listing and frequently show signs of very significant ring wear on the jacket.

Collectors tend to purchase this to display/frame the set.

What this particular set has going for it is there is absolutely no handwriting on the gatefold sleeve and only a small “BtoRun” on just one side of the album label.

While it does have very minor ring wear on the very top of the backside, overall the jacket is fairly bright. It does have some creasing - notably on some of the edges - and has some indentations in the jacket which I’ve attempted to show in the photos.

The album itself shows normal wear from play but I’ve never played it. I’ve had this item stored or displayed out of sunlight for many years.

Columbia also issued a photocopied “mastering sheet” and individual lyric sheetsfor each track. It is rare to have these included in sales I’ve seen but these will also be sent to the buyer.

As a bonus I will include two additional items that were included in the original 1975 promo that are almost impossible to find. Please note these are photocopies. 1.) A Photocopy of the front of the original outer mailing envelope printed with “Bruce Springsteen Born To Run Special Pre-Release Limited Edition” that this set was sent in to the radio stations and 2) A Photocopy of the original track listing showing “The Heist” for “Meeting Across The River.
