An original Mono 1st press of JWH on the UK CBS label from 1968. Matrix A2/B2. The labels are consistent with a 1st press being textured, and not smooth. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Upton printed cover with unlaminated back and pinched spine. Also included is an original CBS inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. As you can imagine JWH is a bugger to find playing clean because of its paired-down acoustic nature. This copy has clearly only seen light use and is preserved to a very high standard. Beautiful clean mono with excellent transparency. So, much so that you can really crank it up and there's no annoying background interference at all. In fact we could only detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. An impressive rendition by any standard. And - wow!...what an album.

Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has been cared for down the years. The main issue you find with JWH is ageing - particularly on the rear! Thankfully this is one example which doesn't seem to have been affected by this process. Lovely shiny front and a rear practically totally free of ageing [very unusual]. Please note there is one sticker removal mark in the top-right. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidty.
Inner (Ex) No ageing. No splits. One tiny mark.
