Frank Sinatra's LP Come Fly With Me

This is a 1975 reissue of the 1958 Capitol classic, one of Sinatra's most popular records.  It's his first release with Billy May's orchestra - these are the quintessential recordings of 'Come Fly With Me', 'April in Paris', 'Moonlight in Vermont' and the album-closer 'It's Nice To Go Trav'ling' you've been hearing for 60 years.  Here they are on the record they came from.

The cover and format of the packaging are unique.  Songs are listed as coming from the 'Flight Log' and cute descriptions of a fantasy airliner trip are given as stages along the way.  The cover featuring the Lockheed L-1649 Starliner was composed with cooperation (or permission) of TWA, who marketed the 'plane as the 'Jetstream' (since it flew at 24,000 ft, dazzling back then).  Remember that the Boeing 707 jet 'liner debuted in 1958; so till then all commercial flights were done by prop 'planes (see 1962 ending of American Graffiti).  It was the adventure of a lifetime, every time (and not as quiet as modern flight!).

This example is in truly excellent condition, never subjected to abuse, exposure to heat, bending, or anything bad, with very slight wear along the top edge from shelf storage.  It came from the estate of a dear friend whom I cannot imagine played it more than 2 or 3 times.  I'd keep it still longer but just do not have the room any more.  Photos are of item actually on offer.

This record is certainly available on CD or in MP4 if all you want is the music; and that's great.  Do listen and appreciate it.  But if you'd like a true collectible, taking one back to the time of cherished LP albums, and to a time of exotic foreign travel by airplane and Sinatra's golden years, do consider this reasonable offer.  It's also a perfect gift for the aircraft enthusiast who likes jazz pop!
