After the release of his “ SPACE Gypsy” album in 2013, NIK TURNER attended the 6th Psychedelic Network Festival in Würzburg. There the ex-Hawkwind saxophonist and flautist shared the stage with the German psychedelicists SPACE INVADERS for a spontaneous performance. Excerpts of this are now documented on “ Sonic Noise Opera ”. Since the SPACE INVADERS already belong to the who's who of the German psyche scene, one can almost speak of a giant meeting here. For the concert in November 2013 at Psychedelic Network Festival in Würzburg, the 73-year-old ex-HAWKWIND musician NIK TURNER , who supplemented the whole with flute, sax and voice, was the sixth player.
Unfortunately, the whole thing felt like a moderate disaster during the gig. I (Note: bloop) after the gig I started to bring the 24-track recording into a usable form. Under the circumstances, this has been fully successful, so you hardly notice any of the difficulties on the final mix. Instead of overdubs, I simply left out individual parts of the track, eliminated crooked tones and staged the rest effectively.
