An original 1st pressing of WTB on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 2/2. Please note the labels hold both errors only found on the very 1st copies...  "You Really Gotta Hold On Me" and the publishing credit for "Money" is Jobete. If this isn't good enough provenance for you...what about the stamper numbers..1G/1R? Singling this copy out as one of the 1st copies ever to roll off of the presses in the fall of '63. And do bear in mind that in autumn 1963 stereo was VERY NICHE so this copy is, for once, a true Beatles rarity. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with the famous BEATLES half-face showing dark cover variation [on later copies they tinkered with the contrast to balance the image out]. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we can make a few light marks - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Very little to complain at all here - just nice clean audio from the outset. In fact the only track where we encountered a wisp of static was 'Till There Was You' - and even this is very minor indeed. A beautiful rendition from a  true BEATLES classic - and in the much harder to find stereo format....and with 1G/1R stampers.
Cover (Vg) Remains in very nice condition and hasn't been abused. Lovely iconic looking front shot with those famous half-shade faces. There's a few thumbnail creases toward the opening and one in the top right corner, but overall an impressive looking front. The rear is obviously showing some of its age by this stage, but it's still in respectable condition and more than acceptable considering the rarity of this particular example. Edge wear is reasonably light and the spine is in very nice order. The text is mostly legible just the left side of 'W' is exhibiting wear. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) One side split has been taped up. Light ageing, but otherwise aok.
