I live in the Atlanta area and was a very early Mastodon fan. I would buy all their new merch as it came out, right from Criminal Records, the Little 5 Points indie record store that I am pretty sure the band would agree is like home. (I saw them play in the parking lot once.) These picture discs were each purchased by me and have been in my possession since. Never been played. Have been stored in good indoor conditions all this time, no exposure to moisture or smoke.
As you can see in the pictures, the Repltillian disc is a second pressing. Crystal Skull is clear vinyl.
I heard a local story once, may not be true, that this cover of Emerald was Mastodon's way of topping Metallica, who had covered Whiskey in the Jar. Mastodon's version of Emerald just rocks.
