NEAR MINT CONDITION DAVID BOWIE AUSTRALIAN EP, IN A WRAPAROUND SLEEVE.
THIS PRESSING INCLUDES A RARE FADE-OUT VERSION OF AMSTERDAM.
BOWIE'S 1971 TRIDENT STUDIO RECORDING OF AMSTERDAM WAS ORIGINALLY GOING TO BE THE CLOSING TRACK OF THE FIRST SIDE OF THE 'ZIGGY STARDUST' ALBUM, BUT WAS EVENTUALLY DITCHED IN FAVOUR OF 'IT AIN'T EASY'. IT REMAINED UNRELEASED UNTIL IT WAS USED AS THE B SIDE TO SORROW IN OCTOBER 1973.
MOST VERSIONS OF AMSTERDAM FEATURE A PROPER END WHICH SMARTLY CONCLUDES THE SONG (EITHER WITH OR WITHOUT THE FINAL SLAP OF THE PALM ON THE ACOUSTIC GUITAR), BUT THIS VERSION FADES THE SONG OUT, WHICH I BELIEVE IS UNIQUE TO THIS PARTICULAR PRESSING OF THIS EP (OTHER PRESSINGS OF THIS SAME EP FEATURE THE NORMAL ENDINGS).
