Fancy paying £700+ for a top-end solid-blue-triangle copy..? Or perhaps you'd like to get CLOSE for less than a tenth of the price...? Then read on..>>>>
An original spring '74 cut of DSOTM on the UK Harvest label. A3/B3 - not the very 1st cut, but within 12 months of those original Solid-Blue Triangle copies. Please note that label design is consistent with a spring '74 pressing. At this time Emi were in the throws of a label redesign and were substituting 'Gramophone' with 'Emi' in the perimeter text. This copy will have been one of the very 1st to carry the EMI text. How can we tell? Look at the labels and notice that there is a duplication error of 'Made in Great Britain' - it is mentioned once at six o'clock and then again at four o'clock. These copies are but 12 months behind those super collectable solid-blue triangle copies and are, in my opinion, fantastic value when you consider that they are within 12 months of the original master-copy! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover with the original hype sticker in the top left corner and sealed sturdy left hand panel. Also included is the original inner sleeve with blue text [correct for '74], with both stickers and both posters. We will house the Lp in an anti-static inner sleeve to keep it in optimum condition. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In super condition and has clearly only seen the very lightest use. Why is that so important? Because this title is one of the fussiest for audio out there! Under close inspection we could barely make out a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Nearly all copies of DSOTM will carry some interference in that very first intro. I'm pleased to report that this copy is as clean as is humanly possible to find. Even the heartbeat intro is nice and clean. You can really hear the quality in the audio. Beautiful clarity and resolution allowing you to hear deep into the mix. A stunning player with barely any interference at all. All we could detect were a couple of light crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Believe me you're going to struggle to emulate this on any copy, and particularly on a solid-blue-triangle copy. It really is a stunning relatively near-master analogue cut that will blow you away...>>>
Cover (Ex-) In impressive condition and many of the original copies have not survived looking so solid. Very nice clean front with less surface wear than you usually find. Please note there are one or two light scratches over on the left and a nick that's been coloured-in in the bottom left corner. The rear is in similarly fine condition with very little handling wear at all. The interior looks great - no issues at all. Edge wear is relatively light for this title and the spine exhibits a bit, but in no way looks bad. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains an impressive specimen.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of ageing in places. No splits.
Posters (Ex/Ex+) No splits, markings, or ageing.
Stickers (Ex) Nice condition. No creases.
