An original 1st press of Aqualung on the UK Chrysalis label. Matrix A1/B3. Stampers 1-AT/2-AL. Please note the labels are perfectly consistent with very 1st press and exhibit the white Island text at the northern edge. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original textured gatefold cover printed by E J Day. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg) In great condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection do expect a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback on Side 1. And VERYGOOD+ at best on side 2 with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are mostly quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. By and large a very decent player and only exhibiting a bit of light static in a couple of spots on side 2. The only place it really drops below the given grading is in 'GOD'. Expect a bit of crackle here and there during the track - particularly in the first half of the song. It's quite pronounced for the first half, but starts to settle down thereafter. Other than it's a pretty solid rendition with not all that much to complain at.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition and has been looked after. There's no surface wear on the front as you tend to find. There is, however, some diagonal markings over toward the red 'A' on the right side. They're fairly inconsequential and not all that easy to spot. The rear looks good too with minimal surface wear. There's edge wear, but nothing all that significant. The text on the spine seems mostly legible although there's a bit of ageing present.
Inner (Vg) A small stain in one corner. And the bottom edge has split and been taped up.
