An original 1978 copy of Last Waltz on the UK Warners label. Matrix 1/1/1/1/1/1. Please note that very 1st press in spring '78 was on the Warners Burbank label. But Warners changed their label design during summer '78. This particular example would be from the fall in '78 - a matter of a few months after 1st release. Note how the labels mention 'made in the UK', and not 'manufactured' which was introduced in '79. The cover and packaging are still perfectly consistent with the 1st issue design. Note how the 1st issue covers were embossed and look rather smart. Also included are all three high quality original inner sleeves. The booklet is also present. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) A really superb set of vinyl and have only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Difficult to find an original early copy which has been looked after across all three discs. This copy is clearly low-mileage with one careful owner - you can hear it! Lovely clear audio...you can crank it and fully take the performances in without distraction. Interference is very minor and very infrequent. All I could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. A really top copy and if you need the audio to be top-level I would definitely give this copy serious consideration.
Cover (Ex) This box design cover is famously hard to find in decent condition. Often crumpled and deformed and then the actual surface colour is extremely prone to wear and marking. Very few examples surface looking smart after this passage of time - but this copy has manged the journey in very fine form. Lovely clean surfaces without ageing or surface wear. I can make out a couple of creases on the front at the openings - this is quite unusual. The embossed title in the middle is in impeccable condition. Edge wear is slight and the spine looks superb with all text legible. The cover's also managed to retain a perfect box-shape with full rigidity.
Inners (Ex-) Great condition. No splits. "record #1,2,3" written neatly atop each inner.
Booklet (Ex+) Very nice looking. All intact. Has not been heavily thumbed.
