An original 1st press of Presence on the UK Swan label from '76. Matrix A2/B2. Etching "Atlantic Studios". Please note this copy is genuine '76 as the labels mention 'Made In The UK' and NOT "manufactured" as they would do a couple of years later. The heavy-set [probably 160gs by the feel of it] vinyl comes housed in an original embossed non-laminated gatefold cover - per the very 1st issue. You will note many different variations on-line as the record company struggled to try and make the bands name stand out properly. But on a genuine 1st issue it is embossed in the top-right corner and is very hard to actually make out. We have taken a close up pic in order to highlight this. Also included is the original inner sleeve with side-opening. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. All we could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side e.g. in "Nobody's Fault". Absolutely nothing worrying, or even that noticeable. A beautifully clean rendition with precious little to find fault with.
Cover (Vg+) Very difficult to find in top condition, but this example still looks smart for its age. Front and back seem to be relatively clean and mostly unaged. There is, however, some ageing/staining along the spine edge - so do please expect this. The interior looks very nice with some light ageing as is common. Edge wear is light and the openings are still sharp. The spine is totally intact with all text perfectly legible - but it is exhibiting light ageing. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) A couple of splits - which have been taped up. There's evidence of foxing so don't miss that.
