An original 2nd issue of Paranoid from 1971 on UK Vertigo. Matrix 1/1 - same as 1st cut. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original laminated gatefold cover. Also included is the original Vertigo inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+) In very nice condition despite having seeing a moderate level of use. There will be a few lightish marks per side - nothing heavy or ultimately troublesome. But do bear in mind this Lp will not look shiny and clean - so please take that into consideration before purchasing. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with two deviations. When on song this Lp delivers some very decent audio and there is no better way to take in Sabbath than on an early UK vertigo pressing. This copy will not suit the purists, but anyone keen to get a taste of these early copies. Interference is mostly relatively minor, but do expect a bit of static here and there - mostly only noticeable in the quietest sections. Thanks to the sheer volume of Sabbath it doesn't typically get much of a look in during the tracks! The deviations are... in Caravan - consistent back ground crackle due to the fact the track is very low-key. Still more than acceptable and enjoyable - but it is audible, so don't get taken by surprise. Also in "War Pigs" - a few of the marks are starting to cause a bit of crackle here and there. Nothing epic - it just won't sound as clean as some of these other tracks. Weigh it up in the round...if you're looking for a low cost route into some of that early Vertigo magic...this might well be a good starting point.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition and has been cared for. Front and back back look very nice thanks to that lamination - just a few thumbnail creases showing either side. The interior looks very smart with no signs of the usual ageing process. Edge wear is mostly light. A bit more pronounced on the spine so some of the text is starting to get obscured. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Some ageing in spots, but no splits.
