The Beatles - Rubber Soul LP - VG/VG+
UK first pressing on Parlophone, issued in 1965. This is the original ‘Loud Cut’ mono mix, as indicated by the stamped matrix numbers XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1. This was quickly withdrawn, so quite a rare record.
Front laminated flip-back sleeve. Black and yellow labels. Tracklisting on the labels in a serif typeface.
I have personally cleaned and play-tested this record. Record is graded VG. There are several fine wispy lines on both sides, and a scuff near the inner runout of Side 2 – however these do not affect playback. There is a bit of audible crackle, particularly on the runouts and in between tracks. But no pops, nasty clicks or jumps.
Labels are nice and clean aside from a small name written in the sterling logo on Side 1.
Please note: this record comes in an Australian issued sleeve, hence the low start price. I don’t know why this is, as I inherited the record and have no way of finding out. However, the sleeve is in VG+ condition with no writing or serious damage, just general wear and tear.
All in all this is a more than respectable copy of this classic album.
Please check out my other records.
