Donavan 'Fairytale' 1965 Pye A2/B2 Vinyl LP A Folk Classic VG/VG Sounds Superb
This is a very good and very clean copy of this Donovan classic! The vinyl has good sheen though there are fine hairlines and surface marks to be seen under inspection - no heavier marks or scratches. Fortunately due to the nature of these early heavy-grooved mono pressings this does withstand any surface-level marks very well, if this were a later record it would probably be very noisy however this sounds crystal clear in play with light noise in the spaces in-between and the very quietest passages but rarely interfering with play. This can sound excellent at times. The sleeve is very good indeed and would attract a VG+ grading were it not for a bit of staining to the lower corner. Overall graded VG/VG on looks but playing better than that! A great listen and a classic record!

Please see the following grading guidelines which I use to grade all media:  Items will be described in the following order: Media/Cover (i.e. VG/G+)

MINT:  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

CD's are similarly graded though the Jewel case is disregarded in grading. The grading applies to the media and the insert. Cassettes will simply be described in their playing condition and are all tested.
