An original and genuine 1st issue of the STONE ROSES debut from the time of release - '89 [whilst the album propped up the bottom end of the UK -charts]. Estimate... Aug-89....as per the Etchings...A2 "89-8" B2 "89-8".  Much of the LP was recorded in 1988, rather than 1989. The single Elephant Stone didn't seem to get them all that much notice and they had to wait almost a full year before things really started to take off. The inner sleeve has a thumb-notch and the record labels are the 33rpm [NOT 45rpm] plain white variety. Note how the record cover also mentions that it was printed in the "EEC".., and the labels mention "manufacture in the EEC"...this soon becomes the dreaded "EU" only two years later. You can find some copies with embossed text on the front, others such as this example, do NOT have the embosing effect. Original copies MUST mention the EEC. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In amazing condition and you'd be hard pushed to find a better looking original example. Shiny like new and I can only make out a couple of ultra-light bag-rash type marks..nothing remotely troublesome. This is particularly important on this release! Firstly, because it is not pressed on heavy vinyl - these light pressed copies are far more susceptible to damage. Secondly, the album is chock full of VERY delicate passages and any marks will show/reveal themselves in the audio VERY quickly. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Precisely what any serious collector is looking for. Why would you short change yourself on one of the UK's best Lps ever released? The audio is superb revealing all of Reni's intricate drum patterns...Not a whiff of background. Even "Elizabeth" plays lovely and quiet. It's as clean a player as you will ever find. At worst you might detect a couple of isolated crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. E.g. the intro to 'This Is The One' - a couple of static crackles..[barely even worth mentioning!]. An absolute beaut in every way.... FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) And if the record wasn't impressive enough on its own the cover is equally and surprisingly well preserved too. MOST of these original cover will be wrecked by this point in time. This example lies totally flat with lovely shiny surfaces, and doesn't look far off new. Edge wear is extremely slight and the openings still sharp. A touch of lightest wear at 12 o'clock toward the top of the rear. The only way to better this copy would to be find one in original shrink-wrap! The spine is almost perfect with only the "O" of Stone Roses exhibiting slight wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. An absolute stunner!
Inner (Ex+) Absolutely pristine. Feels and looks like it was printed yesterday. The thumb-notch is totally unworn. Corners are all pointed and there's no wear observable at all.
