An original 1965 copy of the DEBUT on the UK Decca label - probably 18 months after 1st release. Matrix 2A/4A. Stampers 1-UU/1-UC. Note the deep-groove and 'recording 1st pub' are both still present on the labels. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover with pinched spine. These flipbackless covers were definitely in use in 1965 - earlier than you might think. Also included is the original Decca lined inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, and one superficial but noticeable mark toward the end of side 1 [non-sounding] & one slight semi-feelable mark in track 1 [sounding]. If you're someone who cannot handle a few marks - maybe give this one a miss. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. By and large a very decent rendition of the Stones debut with great vibrancy and energy. It's not quite going to bother the top grades - so would be suitable for someone who can take the odd imperfection in places. Please note in the first half of ROUTE 66 I'm getting about 10 clicks caused by one of the marks mentioned above. Thankfully this is a very uptempo number and so it isn't as noticeable as it might have been if it was during a lower-key outing. Other than that expect a very nice reassuring rendition. Any interference is minor and fleeting. Not perfect, but very respectable indeed.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition and looking well above average as many from this period will be wrecked by this point in time. The front is in beautiful condition with just a few minor stress creases around the edge - but no dreaded laminate lift or heavy creasing. The rear has avoided most of the usual ageing that afflicts these covers. Only very lowest level tanning noticeable. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing and no splits.
