An original 2nd press of Rubber Soul from 1965. Matrix 4/4. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover with flipbacks. Also included is an original Emitex inner sleeve from the mid sixties too.
Vinyl (Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side, and a couple of very superficial trails- but nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is mostly insignificant and relatively fleeting. When on song this LP absolutely aces it. It only deviates from the given grading in the tracks Michelle & Girl & My Life. These are always the tricky tracks to find playing clean  - nearly all copies will exhibit some sort of background here. This copy is no exception. It's audible background, but not at a level which is intrusive. There's also a couple of ticks midway through 'Wait' - no big deal. Overall a lovey player - most certainly a keeper.
Cover (Ex-) In lovely condition with a nice shiny front and only one minor just visible crease. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the ageing process. There's only a couple of minor blemishes just noticeable. All flipbacks are intact and secure. There's a little edge wear in a couple of spots - e.g. 1c.m. in the top middle seam. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Emitex (Vg+) Light ageing, but no splits.
