The BEATLES
REVOLVER

On offer here, is a 1st pressed copy of this iconic album, carrying the earliest 606-1 side 2 matrix, which has the remix 11 on the last track
Apparently, it is rumoured that John Lennon was unhappy with this released version but it is more likely that it was George Martin who reverted back to remix 8, on all subsequent pressings, which had always been his preferred mix before 3 more were tried out. The only notable difference is the piano sequence at the end, which I doubt John would have been concerned about, as he really disliked the overall sound of the whole track

1966 - Mono   1st Pressing PMC 7009 XEX 605-2 / 606-1 5-GT / 3-RD

Visually
VG
Quite a few surface lines and some light scuffs, mainly side 2 - a little dulling but no groove whitening or other damage - plays better than it looks

Audio:
VG
Sound quality is excellent - near silent run ins - played many times but on decent equipment - Paul's thumping bass bursts from the speakers after the initial 'count in' - downgraded to VG mainly due to the occasional 'pop/tick' caused by some of the lines, most of which are quite faint and generally overpowered by the music - not flawless but better than most examples out there - no skips or stalls - this is a cautious and honest appraisal for a disc that has been played many times but still delivers a very nice performance with no appreciable deterioration in sound quality

Labels:
VG+
Undamaged, with vibrant text - many spindle trails - Side 1 carries a genuine 'Factory Sample' sticker

Cover:
EX            Superb EJD issue - no real problems, just age related toning and handling signs - spine text is perfect - hard to better (see photos)

Inner sleeve:
EX
Correct rice paper lined 'Made In England' issue - completely intact - age toning

All records are thoroughly cleaned and I will of course, continue with the surreal requirement of separating the disc from the cover, even though they have been together now for over 50 years and have left a lasting impression :-)
