The box set is intact and has all the original elements that came inside the box. The vinyl LPs were closely examined and found to be in excellent condition.  The covers and inner sleeves are in very good to NM condition.  A 4” section of the top edge cover of “Let It Be” has come unglued, and there is a 2” section of minor wear on the bottom.  The “Rarities” cover has a 2” section of minor wear on the bottom edge.  The “Yellow Submarine” cover has a 1” section of minor wear on the bottom edge.  The other covers appear to be in NM condition.  See photo showing bottom edges.

The Beatles Collection, was first released in the U.S. in November of 1978, as a limited numbered release of 3000 copies. A month later a U.K. version was released (catalog number BC-13) and quickly became a sought after import by U.S. buyers. 

Per a reviewer’s comments: “The Beatles catalog was originally released in the United States and United Kingdom with slightly different track listings, covers, and packaging.  A much more striking difference, however, was the sound. The U.K. releases used minimal processing and offered superior sound, both in the mono and stereo versions of each release.  The U.S. versions on the other hand often used second or third generation tapes, and processed the recordings with excessive echo and reverb, particularly on the stereo versions, in an effort to make the records sound more modern.  The result was simply inferior sound quality.”   

 

Also known as The Blue Box, this collection contained the stereo versions of the Parlophone and Apple studio releases, as well as Rarities.  The records are housed in a flip-top textured blue cardboard box with gold lettering, featuring each of the band member’s signatures on the front.  There are 13 albums and 14 LP’s total, including:
