An original Pink Island pressing from 1970. Matrix A2/B2. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with the pop-up band gimmick. Also included is the original white inner sleeve with patent info. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. A much cleaner copy than you often tend to find - and you really need that with Tull LPs! A very reassured rendition which is a high standard particularly given it's relative vintage. By and large a clean player with nothing more than a touch of static in a couple of tracks. Just a touch audible in 'Reasons For Waiting' - but nothing upfront or distracting at all. Overall a great rendition even into the quieter moments - not all original copies will play at this standard.
Cover (Vg+) Truly a massive pain to find these covers in decent condition. A white unlaminated paper rear was always going to provide a canvass for staining and grubby fingers! But this example is above average and thankfully doesn't appear to have been affected all that much by ageing. A very nice and clean and flat front - no issues. The rear has avoided the worst of the usual ageing, but expect a few grubby spots where folk have handled it left and right. In my opinion - better than many copies. There's edge wear on this copy [as is standard], but it's actually not all that bad and the openings are still sharp [quite unusual]. The spine is ok with light wear and ageing. The text is still more or less still legible. Now, this is no easy find as most will be knackered by this point in time. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
