An original 1st press of MMT from 1976 in the LP format. EMI realised quite late on they were missing a trick not releasing MMT in the LP format. In the UK we had to wait till '76 - unless you'd imported a USA copy at the time. Matrix 1/1. Please note 1st pressings are relatively easy to spot - you need EMI in the perimeter text on the label. The vinyl is heavier than many similar dated copies and comes housed in an original gatefold cover with 24 page booklet. Also included is the original EMI inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) A beautiful copy which has only seen the very lightest of use - a total 'time traveller'. Under close inspection I'm struggling to make out a single mark - the surfaces look like mirrors. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback [truly]. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with tremendous clarity. Don't under estimate how good a decent 1976 Parlophone copy can sound. A decent pressing weight example like this one - which is perfectly preserved... is capable of great things. If you really want to hear all that tremendous detail in some of these Beatles classics - you need to insist on only the absolute BEST copy you can get your hands on. This copy is blindingly good - I have never witnessed better - period! Interference? Not a whisper of it! Absolute clean audio - perfectly crisp and detailed. NOTHING in the background. Even in those super fussy tracks... just perfect clarity. FINAL UPGRADE par excellence.
Cover (Ex) Difficult to find in top condition, but this example has survived in remarkably clean condition. Front and back are perfectly flat and clean. There's zero sign of ageing, or creasing, or wear. The only thing I can make out is when you tilt the front into the light - I can make out some light indentation around the Walrus chest [that's all]. The interior is in excellent condition with just a whiff of light ageing [much better than you typically find]. Edge wear is very slight apart from a one inch patch atop the right hand panel [in the middle - relatively minor {no big deal}]. The spine looks great with only slight handling evidence up at the top end - text still legible. The booklet doesn't appear to have ever been attached to the main cover. Even where they managed to staple it in successfully 99% of examples will have popped out by this time. All pages are perfectly intact with no sign of heavy use. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
