An original STEREO 1st press on UK Columbia. Remember - In '61 STEREO had only been in existence a couple of years and, consequently, these 1st pressings are extremely difficult to track down. Matrix 1/1. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo cover. Also included is an original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals... for SIDE 1 a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. SIDE 2 - has seen less use and we're up around NEAREXCELLENT [mostly]. When on song this copy delivers a fantastic rendition with a wide bodied warm sound. It's not clean all the way through. Expect a bit of background crackle in a couple of tracks on side 1 [e.g. All My Sorrows]. Nothing invasive. Very little to complain at at all on side 2 - much cleaner throughout.
Cover (Ex) In lovely condition and there can't be too many around looking this fine. Lovely clean flat and uncreased front. The rear seems to have totally avoided the usual ageing process - very impressive. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edgewear is minimal and the spine 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine example indeed.
Inner (Vg) No splits, but a bit aged in places.
