An original 1st mono press of BoB! on the UK CBS label. Matrix A1/B1/C1/D1 - absolute 1st cut. Note label design is very distinct for 1st pressing on this title. It must look precisely as found here with the large "33" speed and a flat label with only tapering right at the edge. CBS would switch from this label design shortly after 1st issue and, as a result, the 1st copies are by far the hardest to find. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover. Note the cover still shows Claudia on the right hand panel and the flipbacks are clearly evident - as you would expect for 1st issue. We have both original orange and white CBS inner sleeves. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete. The LPs will ship in poly-lined inner sleeves for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In really nice condition and has not been abused in any way. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks, and a couple of very superficial trails per side - nothing feelable or likely to cause significant issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just minor deviation perhaps once or twice per side. Gotta love this pressing - it really is no wonder that collectors insist on the 1st mono issues - they just nail this release...period. Super audio that delivers this DYLAN classic with aplomb and integrity. Little to take issue with, here, just a nice clean rendition. Intros are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Background interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were just a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side.. e.g. the 1st couple of bars of Johanna & the final moments of S.E.L.o.Ls. It's nearly the perfect copy...it's getting close. This sort of standard across four sides - on such a sought after release - is a real find. A couple of ticks early in 'YOUR WAY' & , again, in 'RAINY DAY' - relatively minor.. that's really all I could pick out across four sides. If you are a total fan of the Bobster - you owe it to yourself to get the best copy you can get your hands on. This is the right release - and it is ticking the boxes in all the right areas. Love it. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex) Well, not sure I've seen the original cover looking quite this dandy. Given it's actual age it is looking pretty darn tidy. The outer surfaces are very nice and clean and flat. There's a couple of slight thumbnail creases front and back - that's pretty much it really. The interior is in excellent order with almost no ageing apparent at all [unusual]. Those flip-backs are in great condition - all secure and intact. Take a look at the internal spine - that's looking pretty damn smart in my opinion. Edge wear is very minor indeed and the spine pretty much 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A truly very fine example.
Inners (Ex/Ex-) In great shape with only slight ageing apparent on one sleeve. Clean and not overly creased. One slight 1 inch bottom edge which has been neatly taped up. Other than that no splits.
