An original 1st issue of GHS on the Rolling Stone label. Matrix A2/B3. Etching 'Rolling Stone Records'. Note how there's no text in the upper half of the labels - these are the 1st issues. Worth insisting on 1st issue as pressing weight is variable quite soon afterwards. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is the original generic white inner from [blue text]. There's also the chocolate brown coloured credit sheet and the promo sheet too. So, we're 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. Most 1st issues do not play so clean and consistently clean - like this example. A lot of copies will not deliver 'Angie' cleanly - but this copy is managing a close on perfect rendition [unusual]. Track after track delivered with aplomb and excellent clarity. Very little to take issue with here. Maybe a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side - it really is that good. "Winter" plays clean too. I'd have to say this is one of the best renditions I've witnessed. I'm hearing some percussion deep in the mix that I don't recall previously. Highly Recommended.
Cover (Ex) In lovely condition and I can assure you this title does not surface looking this good very often. Super flat front cover without creasing and with only slightest wear in one spot by the opening. The rear is remarkably free from wear. All I can make out is a superficial crease on Keith's chin and one miniscule patch of wear at the top edge. In reality, this is exceptionally difficult to find. The interior is absolutely mint - not the slightest hint of use. Edge wear is very light and the openings feel like they were cut yesterday! The cover even has the smell of a "new cover" which is really odd considering it is genuine '73. All the text on the spine is perfectly legible - there's just a touch of wear right at the extreme top of the spine. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thank to the heavy card used in manufacture. A super specimen.
