Do you have an original 1967 Mono copy that's not singing quite so sweetly after 50+ years of use? Or perhaps you are an owner of a smart 1st stereo 1967 copy? But, maybe, you'd quite like to have that original and elusive mono 1st? Either way - this copy might be of interest to you [Vinyl - ONLY].
Genuine 1st mono USA Capitol copy from 1967. Pressed on heavy-set vinyl no mention of 'subsidiary' on the labels. Not ALL copies were pressed on heavy-stock. These copies were imported into the UK in 1967 when they realised the LP format, perhaps, was more suitable for MMT [rather than two pesky 7 inches]. It charted in the UK - in LP format - in 1967 but only reached the lower echelons of the chart. Most importantly - this copy has not been abused and plays clean.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) Looks to be in very good order and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side - but nothing ominous looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Most impressive thing is that it plays, mostly, very nice and clean. In my opinion - the most listenable Beatles Album. The only deviation from the grading is a bit of crackle as 'Flying' closes out. Then a couple of brief clicks in the opening seconds of Blue Jay. The occasional static crack in "Mother" - this track is difficult to find perfectly clean. 'Strawberry Fields' plays very well with an occasional crackle and a couple of ticks in the opening seconds. There's 4-5 clicks in that funny nonsense sound section between SF & PL. And a couple of ticks midway through 'Rich Man'. But overall - a really nice warm and clean player - there's precious little to take issue with.
