An original 1st issue of WTB in STEREO from Xmas-1963. Matrix 2/2 - 1st cut. Stampers 3-GO/3-GO. This copy is actually, historically, quite interesting if you're into typography. No doubt everyone will be aware of the two main typos that help to distinguish the earliest copies. The 'Jobete' publishing credit for Money and the use of 'GOTTA' in You Really Gotta. Just prior to the release date they realised that the publishing for 'Money' needed changing. The typographers set about changing the 'Money' publishing credit and the GOTTA issue - in one go on the same day. They got rid of the double 'TT' - and corrected it to 'Got A'. But in doing so they, initially, repeated the publishing credit error found on the very earliest 1st copies - spelling Dominion - as 'Domion'. They then removed the Jobete credit for 'Money' in favour of 'Belinda' - and in the process made yet another error...leaving 'NCB' right at the end of the text. 'NCB' should not be present for 'Belinda' copies. Apart from being interesting [typographically] it also helps us to date the copy right to the release date where they'd deemed a full label revision was necessary. This particular subset of typo errors is probably found on only a handful of copies [particularly in stereo]. The label mentions 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text and 'recording 1st pub' is exhibiting too - all present on true 1st issues. This lovely heavy pressing comes housed in an original Garrod cover. We also have the original Emitex inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% complete and 100% genuine. We will ship in a Mofi anti-static inner for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) A very well preserved original 1963 record  [particularly given the vintage]. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, one or two of the small ones are semi-feelable. There's a bit of low-level scuffing in one small patch on side 2. But nothing that's going to cause this very heavy '63 copy much issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a varying level of playback. Side 2 - plays mostly NearExcellent with nothing worse than a couple of errant ticks and some crackle creeping into the signal for 'Money' [Not bad]. Side 1 - has seen more use and this is evident in the audio. It plays fine, but not clean throughout [averaging VG+]. I did detect some background in the 1st half of track 4. Track 6 [side 1] - is probably the only subpar track. Expect consistent crackle [it will not play clean]. By and large, and given the relative vintage and scarcity of this copy, audio playback is very appealing for the bulk of the two sides. A solid player in good condition for a collector who understands it is difficult to track this early 1st copy down.
Cover (Vg+) A superb looking specimen with that iconic front image looking superb. Worth noting that the cover is pleasingly flat with great rigidity. Not much sign of ageing on the front and just a couple of very minor thumbnail creases over toward the opening. The rear has avoided the worst effects of the ageing process. Certainly much better than many copies will look by this point time. The rear is looking very tidy with all flipbacks perfectly intact. The spine is full legible with just one tiny stress crease. Overall a bit of a humdinger I'd argue.
Emitex (Vg+) Lightly aged.  A tear from the die-cut circle has been repaired internally with glue.
