An original 1st mono press of BH on the UK Track Label. Matrix A2/B2. It's a good idea on this title to go early and go mono. My preference on this title would definitely be mono. And the earlier the better - 1968 copies, like this one, will be pressed really nice and heavy. The record comes housed in a late 60's cover - with a format indicator of stereo on the rear. A technical mismatch - but given it's such a minor alteration it's a compromise most should be able to live with in order to get a decent copy [first and foremost].
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Just remember these HITS copies will often have been round the friends and at many parties. Finding a decent looked after copy is a good effort on it's own. Expect a few light marks per side - but this is a solid early mono copy...it can handle any of this with ease. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, NEAR  EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Not quite clean enough to hit the topper most grades. But finding a true EX+ copy of this title would be a very difficult task indeed. I have to say - -I've heard a zillion copies of HITS and most of them are pretty average and not all that appealing. If, however, you get a nice early mono copy that's been looked after - you can start to get some of that Jimi magic. Don't expect a perfectly clean rendition throughout. You might detect just a touch of background in a couple of spots. But by and large a very likeable and appealing rendition. With nothing major to turn your nose up at. All I could detect was a couple of minor ticks in a gap on the 2nd side. Like it!
Cover (Ex-) Again, these HITS covers were usually trashed. But this example is till looking pretty dapper. A very nice clean front cover with just some light creasing at the opening. The rear sees to have avoided the usual ageing process. Just a bit of light handling in places. Just some very light edge wear with sharp openings. The spine is pretty much fully intact - all text fully legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
