An original very 1st press of UMMAGUMMA on UK Harvest. Matrix A1/B2-A1/B2 [very 1st cut]. Please note the label perimeter text mentions 'Gramophone' and the EMI logos are absent [correct for 1st press]. There is another indicator of the earliest copies - there's an 'R' missing in the track 'THE GAND VIZIER'! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note the earliest 1st issue covers went out with Londen spelt incorrectly! We also have both Harvest inner sleeves. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) A lovely looking slab of vinyl - nice and shiny has clearly seen only lightest use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just minor deviation in places. Most certainly one of the fussiest of the PF titles - it is almost impossible to find a 100% perfectly clean player. This examples plays really nice with some minor background evident in the most delicate moments. I'm thinking... "STCFTHOTS"... And in Sysyphus" & "Grantchester". Nothing upfront really - mostly just low level background that might not even be that noticeable if it were present on a different sort of release. But this is UMMA and everything no matter how insignificant will seem amplified. I also detected 3-4 isolated ticks in ASTRO DOMINE.. Overall a great original player - not quite clean enough to satisfy an an ultra-purist. But providing you're not at that threshold - more than entertaining...and an absolute 1st.
Cover (Vg+) Very nicely preserved and, remember, this is absolute 1st with the Londen print error. Nice and flat with a couple of creases front and back. The interior looks very nice without the surface wear and marking that is often apparent. Edge wear is relatively minor. The text on the spine is all still legible. But it seems to have lost the lamination, here, and there is a bit of dirt and surface wear apparent. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inners (Vg) Bag still present. Couple of small splits taped up. A bit aged.
