An original 1st MONO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. The very earliest copies should mention the publishing credits all over on the left side of the label - as you find here. These early copies were pressed heavy - don't risk a substandard copy. The vinyl comes housed in an original MONO G&L cover. Also included is an original 'patents applied for' inner sleeve - correct for 1966 and this release. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. There are a good few very superficial marks per side. One mark on side 1 is semi-feelable and does sound [see detail]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Yesterday and Michelle don't have the background that typically exhibits on many copies. There is, however, that mark mentioned above which causes 7-8 ticks in the track Michelle. A shame as the rest of the entire LP plays back absolutely superb. If you can live with that one issue - the remainder is exemplary.
Cover (Ex-) A very nice clean and flat front. A crease down in the bottom right corner and a touch of ageing creeping at the extremities. The rear seems to have escaped much of the ageing process. Edge wear is very slight. Nice sharp openings. The spine is 100% intact with some light ageing. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A fine specimen.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
