An original 1st UK press of JAZZ from autumn 1978. matrix 1U/1U - 1st cut. "Sterling". Typically pressings from this period are a bit crappy. But this copy - vinyl and cover are of outstanding quality..is it the Queen factor - perhaps? But I was very impressed given it was made in '78. The vinyl comes housed in an original embossed gatefold cover - Jazz embossed front and back. Right opening glued shut - left opening is for the record. We also have the original inner sleeve. Notably the inner sleeve is fully laminated - which is pretty unusual for an inner. 
Vinyl (Ex) A very well preserved trues 1st. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Plays clean into all areas - even into the low-key acoustic moments. Love it! A few minor crackles in one isolated moment per side. A truly superb rendition.
Cover (Vg) The cover is not up to the standard of the vinyl - it's merely acceptable. Nice looking front with only light surface wear - and a slight ageing places. The rear is a shade down with a bit of handling dirt and foxing in places. Not bad, but certainly noticeable. A bit of edge wear in places and someone seems to have touched it up with black in places. Sharp openings on the left opening. The interior looks really nice. The spine is looking good with some wear - text only 50/50 legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Very nice. No splits no creases.
