‘An Audiophile’s Dream Come True!’
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, proprietor of ”Original Master Recording(s)” (trade-mark),... We guarantee not to exceed more than 200,000 copies of any release. The disc cutter turntable is driven at 16⅔ rpm, and the master tape is played at exactly one-half the actual recorded speed. This half-speed disc cutting method allows the cutting stylus twice as much time to carve an accurate groove. Because our entire transfer chain (from tape deck to cutting head) is transformless,... We do not employ limiting or compression. We recently incorporated the Ortofon master disc cutting system... Our plating... Currently, the Victor Co. of Japan (JVC) performs this most arduous task... The Victor Co. of Japan (JVC) is the sole producer of this vinyl and also presses our discs.

The punishment befits the crime, and a quarter of a century later, Supertramp have been forgiven by critics. Quite why they induced such negative press seems unjustified, as 'Bloody Well Right' and 'Dreamer' sound as fresh as ever. The electric piano cuts through the speakers like a knife through butter, the treble at times hurting the ear like a heavy rock guitar solo. Both Hodgson's and Davies' voices sound rich and confident, although both are quite different. Maybe the pace slackens with the slightly indulgent 'If Everyone Was Listening' and the title track, but there are enough musical highlights to recommend this for any would-be '90s progster's wants list...........

Vom verschmusten "Give A Little Bit" zum trotzigen "Bloody Well Right", vom sirenenartigen "Dreamer" zum dramatischen "Logical Song". .............................
Das Album hat einen Eintrag im Buch "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die". Geschuldet ist es knackigen, eingängigen Pop-Titeln, wie "The Logical Song," "Take The Long Way Home," and "Goodbye Stranger."

The until-recently-defunct "Mobile Fidelity Labs" audiophile album vinyl pressings were not only analogue, audiophile masterpieces and connoisseur delights, they have become true pieces of audio history and lore. These majestic recordings received a meticulous and laborious treatment like no other recordings in the entire history of the recorded sound. They are characterized by the massively extended dynamic and frequency range, mastering from the very first generation of original master tapes, almost compulsive attention paid to the detail and integrity of the pressing, and the highest quality of the material (only the "virgin-", audiophile-grade vinyl was used, and most of the titles were pressed by RCA/Victor and/or Warner-Pioneer corporations of Japan, both known for their near-obsessive attention paid to the fine sonic detail and audio craftsmanship); a special proprietary  technology was used to achieve analogue-like, warm, translucent, radiant, vivid and all-encompassing sound. To this day, many of these recordings remain unsurpassed, delivering music reproduction as close to the actual recording session as possible, without any loss of musical information inherent in the standard practice of mastering from the inferior "production" copies.  EVER SINCE THE MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LABS TEMPORARILY CLOSED IN DECEMBER OF 1999 (ONLY TO REOPEN IN 2003), THESE RECORDINGS HAVE BEEN ESCALATING IN VALUE AND DEMAND.
