An original 1st press of MOR on the UK Vertigo label. Inverted label colours which was a unique design from Vertigo for this particular title. Matrix 1/1. The vinyl comes housed in an original embossed box cover. There's also the original Vertigo inner sleeve date coded to '0671' - summer 1971. NO poster.
Vinyl (Vg-/Vg+) In nice condition despite moderate use. Expect a good few marks per side - nothing sinister or nasty looking. But obviously if you're fussy about marks - this isn't going to fit the bill for anyone with exacting standards. It plays very nice around VERYGOOD+ for large parts - BUT NOT exclusively. It is enjoyable, but will not suit someone who needs a quiet background. Thankfully Sabbath is damn loud in parts - and these parts will play absolutely fine. But do expect sub-par performance in the quieter tracks {Orchid & Solitude}. Orchid plays relatively clean but with a few minor clicks in places. Solitude is definitely sub-par...expect some crackle throughout and a good few clicks [so acceptable and no better]. Expect a few clicks in a couple of other tracks too [e.g. Embryo]. Elsewhere this Vertigo pressing does a great job of revealing the power and might of Sabbath in full flow. Just be realistic with what to expect - this will not suit anyone fussy.
Cover (Vg+) Not too bad really. Surfaces are looking very nicely preserved with some laminate lift by the spine [as is common]. Two things to be aware of...Firstly, the box structure has flattened - as is very common. Secondly, something's chewed the top right corner. It has been inked in, but it is showing considerable wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) No splits. Light ageing. Bag still present.
