An original 1st press of [QII] on UK EMI from Spring 1974. Matrix 7/8. The albums original release date was pushed back due to the oil crisis - but thankfully EMI appear to have still managed to do an excellent job on the audio. The vinyl comes housed in a fully laminated cover [inside and out] - a thing of beauty. Note that the cover makes NO mention of 1975 printing - this print job comes from 1974. We also have the original round cornered inner sleeve. 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection there's a couple of light marks/trails on side 2. Seemingly nothing heavy/worrisome as I can't detect anything entering the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with just slight deviation in one spot. Well, for everyone it's all going to be about the AUDIO. And let's not forget EMI were very capable of pressing a great record during this period. But finding a nice clean and untarnished copy which can deliver that amazing EMI sound with a clean signal...isn't quite as easy a task as you might imagine. Clean signalled with precious little sign of use. Even into those very quiet passages with just piano tinkering, or Freddie vocals. A couple slight ticks in Fairy Feller. And a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. An extremely good strike rate. Overall - a super rendition.
Cover (Ex) I'd imagine this cover is probably a bit of a bugger to find in top level condition. Black outer and white inner - that's a recipe for disaster! But full lamination is really helping here. Front and back are looking superb - flat and clean with barely a crease. The opening panel retains really excellent rigidity with nice pointy corners. The interior looks great with only some slightest evidence of ageing. There's very little edge wear - and the openings are still nice and firm. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Very little sign of ageing. One 1 c.m. bottom edge split. That's ALL!
