A genuine 1st mono from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N - 1st cut. Note that absolute 1st press is identifiable by the wide-body chubby font employed on these labels. Labels mention 'Parlophone' and 'recording 1st pub' - indicative of 1st press. And if that weren't interesting enough - this copy is from within the first few thousand copies of AHDN ever pressed <worldwide>. The stampers are "1G/1P" [which {particularly} for a Beatles record - is incredibly early]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover with the Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of superficial trail marks per side - nothing feelable or that will enter the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. This a great little player and handles upbeat numbers with aplomb and the quiet numbers easily with barely a whiff of background. Given that this copy is so close onto the initial masters you will be witnessing about as early a copy as is humanly possible to find. And you can certainly hear the clarity in these earliest copies. It's a very nice clean player - throughout. Expect just a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. . It would be hard to match. Highly recommended!
Cover (Vg+) These '64 covers can end up looking a bit tired by this point in time - but this one is still looking very fine. A lovely clean looking front with just a couple of slight thumbnail creases. The rear has escaped the worst of the usual ageing process - but some is in evidence. Flipbacks are all intact and secure. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) lightly aged. No splits.
