Double
sided 78 rpm Record 10.6" on Odeon Records (International Talking Machine Co mbh) "My Mother Said" and "Walker Walked Away" by George Formby with orchestral accompaniment. 44360 and 44361. Also
marked R438 and R439.
This is one of
approximately 80 records from my wife's grandfather's collection. He was
born in 1893, but we don't know whether he bought these new as a young
man, or whether he acquired them second hand in later life. However,
most of them seem to date from the early 1900's.
I
am not an expert or a collector, so I do not know how to describe their
condition, nor what would be considered a normal or reasonable
condition for a 100+ year old record! I have therefore photographed them
as carefully as I can - bidders are responsible for zooming in on
photos and making their own assessment of condition. I have photographed
all playing sides at two different angles to help you distinguish
between real blemishes and spurious lighting effects. The rear sides of
single-siders have also been photographed.
Some have sleeves, some do not. But I have no way of knowing which sleeves belong with which record!
Please note I have had to adjust my postage costs to take account of the high cost of record mailers - almost £1 each. Sorry, no returns, because I do not have the facilities to test them and have described them as honestly as I can.
Thank you for looking.
