An original 1st issue of HOTH on UK Atlantic from 1973. Matrix A2/B3 [you can get a 2/2]. Etching "RL Sterling". Please note that the labels are 1st iteration. No perimeter text in the upper half of the label and NO mention of the Warners logo. Well worth going for the earlier copies - they were pressed a good bit heavier. The vinyl comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover. We also have the original textured inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can make out a couple light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two slight deviations. Nice and quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A very entertaining and impressive rendition - not perfect, but well above average. HOTH has two incredibly fussy Zeppelin tracks 'Rain' and 'No QTR' - both are very difficult to find playing super clean. But this example is delivering a pretty clean rendition. Not perfect - but very clean by and large. Just a few minor crackles observable in the outro to HILLS. A couple of minor isolated ticks in 'Dancing Days' & 'No QTR' - no big deal at all. More than capable of impressing.
Cover (Vg+) Front and rear surfaces look really nice with just a touch of handling along top sector and a very slight sticker removal mark [top right corner]. The interior is looking very nice indeed no issues. Slight edge wear in places and sharp openings. Please NOTE there's a 3 inch wear-through at the top of the right hand panel. I have tape repaired internally -- it is predominantly just a cosmetic issue now. The spine is really good order with little wear or light fade. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Light ageing. One small blemish - otherwise aok. No splits
