This UK late 1959 release was an opportunity to get copies of The Crickets’ first 2 post-Buddy Holly singles on one convenient EP release. Jerry Allison and Sonny Curtis wrote Side 1’s songs. On Side 2, “Love’s Made A Fool Of You” was written by Buddy Holly [with Bob Montgomery] but Buddy’s version was not released until 1964. Finally, “Someone, Someone” was written by Edwin Greines with Norman Petty arguably taking false credit.  This was not unusual for producers then.  The players on this record are Jerry Allison [drums and leader], Sonny Curtis [guitar], Joe Mauldin [bass] and Earl Sinks [main vocals with the group on backup singing] plus Vi Petty [piano on “Someone, Someone” only].

This 7 inch 45 RPM EP record is an early UK pressing. There was no American equivalent. Its condition shows that the previous owner[s] took great care of it over the last 62 years. The sleeve has slight creasing and discolouration from age and is laminated on the front as per the first edition issued in 1959. There is a small letter “w” on the back [see picture].The playing surfaces retain all of their original vinyl shine. The listening experience is first class and the disc is graded Near Mint.  The labels are clean with no writing on either side.
