How's your original Xmas '63 WTB cover looking...tired? Genuine '63 Beatles cover as So So Difficult to find in decent condition! Maybe yours could do with an upgrade?
This is the Xmas 1963 1st issue Mono cover. Please note - this is not the October '63 original issue with half shadow faces. They stomped on that pretty quick and lightened up the artwork - as you find here. But this is still an E J Day printed 1st issue from Xmas time '63 - when Beatlemania was in full flow.
Cover (Ex-) Full Ex copies are nigh on impossible to find. If you're close on an Ex - you're doing pretty damn well in the grand scheme of things. Nice clean and flat front. Expect a couple of thumbnails and some light laminate stress creases at the edges. Nothing unsightly. The rear, in particular, is very hard to find looking like this. It has predominantly avoided the ageing process - just faint evidence along the opening edge. Now, you might see a few on-line which look good - but often the seller has {effectively} bleached the back with the camera shot. What you see here is a proper representation. There is a touch of ageing on the flips. But take a look at a lot of copies out there - very few will look this tidy. Flipbacks all intact and secure. Nice record store sticker top middle - 'R&B Records'. Very little edge wear. Firm unworn openings. Spine 99% intact with slight wear at foot. Over the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
