An original 1st STEREO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Stampers 1A/1M. Just to put that into perspective - this means you are looking at a copy from within the first 5,000 ever pressed {in stereo}. From an audio perspective that is close to being as good as is humanly possible to find. What takes it to the next level - this copy is a total time traveller. Note that publishing details are present on the left side of the label - which infers 1st issue. 'STEREO' is mentioned in bold text - these are the 1st copies. Also note that pressing weight on Oldies varied a lot - this one is solid. The vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo EJ Day cover. We also have a correct and original 'patents applied for' inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzer X 2 - this is one of the best preserved original Beatles records I've ever seen. Full lustre and showing minimal signs of use. Take a look at those labels shots - jeepers creepers! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of the very slightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. An absolute barnstormer of a copy! No way could you beat this one - absolute top level throughout. Intros and inbetweens are perfectly quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Yesterday and Michelle - are the TEST tracks. I go straight to these tracks and find playback is holographic. Practically perfect on Yesterday and Michelle... this is like managing to find a needle in a haystack somewhere in the mid-west. Never heard a copy this good. I guess this is what's possible when you're listening to close on virgin vinyl and the copy was straight from those pristine masters in the sixties. ALL the fussy tracks play perfect. Rigby...Submarine. Unbelievable. But it's here. It's spinning on the turntable. FINAL UPGRADE. Who wants it?
Cover (Ex/Ex+) And if the vinyl wasn't quite enough to get you excited - what about this cover? The front is shiny totally flat and exhibits hardly any signs of ageing. The rear is just superb - no signs of ageing...super dooper. No scuffing. No hidden nasties in the image. All 100% legit from the midsixties. Hardly any edge wear at all. Perfect openings. The spine is 100% intact. Four pointy corners. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Aged. Vg+... An absolute shambles! ha....No splits.
