Gorgeous High Gloss Vinyl is immaculate. Looks and plays Like New. Labels are pristine both sides.

COVER is VG+ (STRONG)
Thin, fragile coated cover is still crisp and shiny; actually in quite nice condition overall, with nice sharp corners all around (1 lightly bumped corner tip - still sharp) and very minimal shelf rub. a few light edge creases, a very mild surface crease near top right and a clean drill hole on BACK ONLY, l.l. corner. Seams and flat, crisp spine are completely intact with no wear or splits. Spine titles are sharp and bold, 100% legible.

TOP Level French Symphonic Prog/Psych Rarity

One of my all-time favorite French Prog LPs, unexpectedly falling into this 2nd copy
is now going to be someone else's good fortune.

Originally self-released by the band in 1976 in very small numbers and re-released the following year on French CBS when the band captured a major label signing.

Fantastic totally instrumental progressive rock from France. Named after the lake area in the Southern French Alps, where the band hails from, 'Gialorgues' was SHYLOCK's first album, self-produced in 1976. This unique album of progressive instrumental rock, with Frippian guitars and symphonic moods reminding of GOBLIN is a revelation and at the absolute apex of the pantheon of French Progressive Rock; the instrumental work is just superb.

The tracks are very complex but flow like mercury, ebbing and rising, falling into naturally occurring guitar or keyboard solos, or as often, gracefully and masterfully intertwining near-telepathically. Powerful bursts and melodic breakthroughs come through, keeping it all highly inventive and completely absorbing; it's easy to hear the skills of these musicians. Astounding to realize this subtly intricate and exhilerating beauty is all coming from only 3 musicians!

SHYLOCKwere one of the best French groups in the second half of the seventies. They played powerful and vigorous symphonic rock. Gialorgues compares very favorably to the first 2 albums by French compatriots Carpe Diem and Atlantide from the same period, This has been described as "an instrumental blend of Genesis (the electric guitar of Hackett and synthesizers of Banks), Yes (the extended musical structures) and, to a lesser extent, King Crimson (the inventive percussion work of Muir)." That being said, this is not at all derivative and sounds totally fresh and original. Their taste for elegant melodies and convincing technical ability place them above almost everyone else in this field and on the same level as Schicke, Führs & Fröhling."

who was a DJ at the Radio Station I co-founded in the 1970's - and who worked for me at my California record store in the '70s and '80s.
Sadly he has now finally left this mortal coil, bequeathing me his deep Vinyl Mine.

I do NOT EVER want to exclude all bidders from any particular country, even though a few specific countries are responsible for almost all spurious "not received" or "not as described" claims over the years.
