This week on Ebay we are offering up this beautiful, clean outer jacket for one of Elvis Presley's earliest RCA EP's.
This is the 'THE REAL ELVIS' EP, released in August 1956, just a few months after his debut album for RCA, released in March 1956.
It contained 4 classic early Elvis songs and has become one of Elvis's best, most loved and most collectible early EPs. This EP contained:
Hound Dog, Don't Be Cruel, My Baby Left Me and I Want You, I Need You.
Four songs that sounded completely new, different and revolutionary at the time, and songs that would go down in history as some of his best early material.
The sleeve is just fantastic; almost a piece of Art. It would look great on display with your other records.
The bold pink-ish red color and the great image of Elvis dancing with his guitar is timeless. The color is bright and even. Often these are found faded, but this one looks terrific.
A real eye-catcher in the record shops, especially for 1956.
This was quite a radical sleeve for the time, bright pink/red and showing Elvis doing his trademark moves, from the waist down, not from the waist up, as most parents and TV producers wished.
In 1956, the Elvis craze was in full swing and RCA was cranking out as much Elvis 'product' as they could, even releasing his prior material in new packaging.
This EP was basically a repackaging of his two latest 1956 singles onto one EP. Despite that, it sold like crazy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I had a really nice spare cover in my collection and figured that there's an Elvis collector or record collector out there that has the loose EP and needs a jacket, or someone out there who needs an upgrade.

The CONDITION is fantastic. Clean, bright and square. There are no scuffs or significant damage. The corners are sharp and square and the opening slot is clean with no damage or smudges. I tried to show that in my pictures.
The black & white back cover has some very mild foxing and slight discoloration next to Elvis's nose, but still it's quite nice. Very hard to see, but there are faint pencil price marks in the upper right corner. Barely noticeable.
Overall, one of the best covers of this very early RCA EP that I've seen in quite some time; other than the one in my Elvis collection.
