SUPER SOUND on this 1981 GEORGE HORN Remaster!
Cleaner, Brighter sound with more Solid Punch than the rather muddy 1972 issue. HIGHLY SOUGHT for its superior Sound Quality.
GEORGE HORN was Chief Mastering Engineer at KENDUN Recorders and FANTASY Studios.
"Featuring The Bar-Kays supplying the funky rhythms and the Memphis Horns contributing the riveting riffs, I'll Play The Blues For You stands out as the definitive Albert King soul-blues fusion album of the Seventies."
King, in the words of the late Michael Bloomfield, "was the only (blues) singer who had clever, modern arrangements that would fit in with the black radio market and with the white market and in no way compromised his style".
...of the great Blues "KINGS" - Albert, Freddie, B.B. and Earl, ALBERT's incisive, biting, sharp Guitar sound and style has always been my favorite ... closely followed by Texas Bluesman: Freddie King.
NOTE! There is a very similar looking 2010 reissue of this LP with the same catalog number which is an inferior (United Record Pressing inc.) pressing, that may or may not have a bar code (apparently they printed them both ways).
HOWEVER: THIS LP for sale bears the small "4" on lower right back cover, (SEE PHOTO #2) which, as/per Discogs, none of the later poorly manufactured United pressings have. "1981 Stax Records" printed on spine. Also the cover here is the correct 1980s thick, sturdy 'paste-on' format with the front cover slick folding over edges beneath the back cover slick and of course there is NO bar code.
Coveted Original 1981 George Horn Remaster
