Cat Stevens Tea For The Tillerman LP 1st Issue GREAT PRESS! [Ex/Ex]
An original 1st issue of Tillerman from the charting period on UK Island. Matrix 4/3. Etchings LH Sterling.. If you are lucky you can snag a solid pink label copy - but Island re-designed the labels as this title was released [making them an expensive find these days].The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. The earlier covers are printed on much more solid card by E J Day. We also have a Island blue inner too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with slight deviation in a couple of spots per side. Remember the audio on this title is going to be exceptionally fussy - only a really clean will get you close to a fantastic rendition. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Playing clean in al these fussy acoustic numbers. I think I picked out a few crackles in one isolated spot per side. Nothing upfront. An extremely decent strike rate. A couple of minor isolated ticks early in 'Father & Son' & in 'Might Die'. A fantastic rendition.
Cover (Ex) Nice shiny flat surfaces without creasing. But this original example is looking well preserved. Front and rear are lovely and shiny with barely a crease. The interior is looking immaculate with no signs of ageing. Very little edge wear with nice sharp firm openings. The spine is 95% intact very smart and the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. A few crumples. No splits.
