An original 1st mono press of Pepper on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 2-AAP/4-APR. A nice solid pressing. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover with exposed flipbacks. There's the original cut-outs too, Sorry, no original inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) Is in great condition despite moderate use. Under close inspection I can make out a good few slight marks per side, and one or two light marks - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of tracks. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. By and large a superb player - pretty clean in most places. Lots of mono vitality in these classic Beatle tracks. The only tracks I detected a touch of background presence occasionally in 'Getting Better'  & 'SLH' & 'WI64. These are amongst the fussiest on Pepper. SLH - rarely plays perfectly clean on any copy. Nothing upfront - just background really and not invasive. Overall a superb and quality rendition. Providing you can live with the slight dip in level on these couple of tracks - expect the rest to play at a high level consistently. Nothing worse than 3-4 ticks in one isolated spot [e.g. Rita]. Like it.
Cover (Ex-) For the vintage - superb. A great looking cover flat with just one slight crease top left on front, and a couple of thumbnails on rear. Excellent colour retention. The interior is looking superb - could not be bettered. Edge wear is minimal - highly impressive for the vintage. Sharpish firm openings. Spine is 95% intact - hardly any wear which is unusual. Just the usual crease running down it and a couple of foxing marks. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
