An original 1st press of DORY on UK RCA. Matrix 3T/3T. Etchings Bobil/Rasputin - this is what marks it out as genuine 1st press. Note - some of the very earliest copies can be found with laminated cover...this example is unlaminated. These early copies are very heavy pressed and sound fab. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover WITHOUT reference to MainMan [i.e. a 1st issue]. The original lyric insert is there too.
Vinyl (Vg+) A great looking copy and has only seen relatively light use. A few very light trace marks per side nothing heavy or nasty looking at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT of playback on side 2. Side 1 has seen more use and is nearer Vg+ with a couple of deviations per side. Nice quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. I noticed a couple of isolated clicks in Changes and the odd static crackle - nothing unpalatable. Eight Line Poem [the fussy number] is playing pretty clean with only the occasional light crackle..ie. better than what typically surfaces. The ambience of the track is still intact. Not necessarily suitable for someone very fussy - but providing you can compromise a little bit in the odd place....a great playing solid copy. Just occasional evidence of use on side 1...e.g. a few crackles in the lower key sequences of a couple of tracks. Side 2 plays cleaner throughout. BUT there is a small mark in track 1. You will get 6-7 clicks in one spot. A shame because elsewhere this copy is really playing great. Bewlay Brothers is fussy - it plays superb. Overall a great rendition of this collectable early Bowie classic..
Cover (Vg+) Front and rear are tidy with less wear than you typically tend to find. Light ageing on the rear - but pretty tidy really. Less edge wear than you typically find. Spine is 80% intact which is quite unusual. Overall the cover still retains verygood rigidity.
Insert (Ex-) Minimal ageing.
