Carole King Tapestry LP. Rare Promotional Copy. First Pressing 1971 White Label. Very RARE Vinyl.

From my personal collection I'm offering this classic vinyl LP that's been in my possession since it was released 52 years ago. This is the original promo version, the very first pressing with the white and silver promotional label.

The vinyl/media itself is Mint but I will grade it NM to be conservative. It has never been on a turntable and shows no visible signs of wear.

The label is near mint as well and side one may be slightly off center. If so, it can barely be noticed. Side one also has a printers error on the number "1". It is a bit faded and was likely on the plate or negative used on the offset printing process. There is a photo of that as well.

The LP cover is NM and still has the original shrink wrap on the spine, top and bottom. The right hand side is open and the sleeve and album have been removed by me at some prior point 50+ years ago. Since the top and bottom are still shrink wrapped and not open, I will not open it to take a photo of the inside art work. It cannot and has never been removed from the cover. The new owner can do that if desired. The shrink wrap has a very slight tear on the bottom left corner and there is some wear at the edge. There is also a loose bit of shrink wrap on the top right corner and a small hole on the front. I have pictured those. There is also the promotional hole punched in the top right corner. The sleeve is also punched. The sleeve has a very small tear on the right side of the punch. and some storage wrinkles.

I am not an expert at grading, however I do believe that I have accurately graded all aspects of this item. Please see the photos and bid accordingly.

Local pickup is preferred. Shipping via media mail in an LP mailer that will be marked FRAGILE and HANDLE WITH CARE. The media mail shipping price does not include insurance. Please add insurance at check out, if desired, as I will not be responsible for damage after it is delivered to the USPS.

Questions? Please let me know and I will answer ASAP.

Thank you for looking.

Grading Scale

M (MINT) - I will only consider something MINT if it is sealed ,unmarked/untouched.

Vinyl = No flaws, defects, marks or other indications of being handled or played.

Cover = Perfect cover; NO dings, marks, tears, dents, bends, creases or other flaws.

NM (NEAR MINT)

Vinyl = Almost flawless. Virtually no scuffs visible, certainly no scratches.

Cover = Cover should have little to no flaws.

EX (Excellent)

Vinyl = May have a couple tiny paper scuffs and/or a couple of light scratches, but nothing that would interfere with play or the sound quality.

Cover = Cover may have very minimal wear overall, any wear is slight and hardly noticeable.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS)

Vinyl = Some visible surface wear (scuffs and/or scratches that CANNOT be felt), which may have VERY MINIMAL impact on the sound quality.

Cover = Cover will show some wear and may have a bend and/or creases. There may be some ring wear and/or edge wear, but it doesn't overpower the artwork. No split seams/tape or records poking through the spine.

VG (VERY GOOD)

Vinyl = Scuffs and/or scratches will be more noticeable than a VG+ record and there may be one or two small scratches that can be felt.

Surface noise should only occur occasionally (mostly between tracks, during quiet passages and where a small, felt scratch may exist).

Cover = Will have some of the same wear listed for a VG+ cover but more pronounced, with more noticeable ring wear and/or edge wear. May include name written somewhere, minor water mark, larger bends and/or creases and possibly a seam split.

G+ (GOOD PLUS)

Vinyl = Extensively played vinyl with some scratches that may be felt, probably causing SOME surface noise (hisses, pops, crackles).

Cover = Generally worn overall and will have several of the following flaws: full seam splits, writing, significant ring wear and/or edge wear, damaged corners, tears, cuts, scuffs, seam repairs, heavy water damage, or other flaws.

G (GOOD)

Vinyl = More pronounced that G+, Extensively played vinyl with some large scratches that can be felt, causing distracting surface noise (hisses, pops, crackles).

Cover = Generally worn overall and will have several of the following flaws: full seam splits, writing, significant ring wear and/or edge wear, damaged corners, tears, cuts, scuffs, seam repairs, heavy water damage, or other flaws.

P (POOR)

Vinyl = There will be major noise and possibly skips from extensive scratches that can be felt.

Cover = extensive water damage, split on 2 or more sides completely, illegible spine, etc. Poor means poor.
