An original GRAMOPHONE text copy - A UK 2nd Press from Summer 1973.. Literlly straight after the original solid-blue triangle copies. Matrix A3/B2. Lovely heavy-set early pressing - means you have deep grooves and are close onto those pristine masters. Hard not to see why these copies are so sought after. The vinyl comes housed in an original and early gatefold with correct left panel sealed. This forms a nice substantial gatefold cover - unlike later flimsy replicas. There's a replica black inner finishing off the aesthetic. No stickers or posters - you could add them at a later date.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few slight marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals [on side 1] an either VERGOOD+ level of playback or, for large parts NEAREXCELLENT level of playback....with deviation in a couple of spots per side. Intros and inbetweens are nice and clean and the audio comes across with excellent clarity for large parts. The first sign you're onto something enticing is when you hear those initial heartbeats with a clean background...that's unusual. And this example is managing, predominantly a very nice clean and assured delivery for large parts. But NOT exclusively. I detected a bit of crackle in the super fussy passages of Breath & Us and Them [but not upfront]. To be fair difficult to find these two perfectly clean on any copy. A couple of ticks in a couple of spots on both sides. But outside of this the record is  acing it. Difficult to put down!
Cover (Vg) Not as well preserved as the LP - but perfectly adequate and certainly original to the period. Front looks really good with minor wear at the foot. The rear sees a bit more wear as is typical with this cover - but not too bad. Some edge wear in places - and has been tidied up with sharpie. But it is looking pretty tidy. The interior is looking really nice. Spine is above average. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
